When considering of Adirondack chairs, pay attention to the height of the chair – some Adirondacks sit very low and can be difficult for older folks to get out of. We do also offer some taller Adirondacks for this reason. Adirondack chairs can be made of many materials, we like those that are built to last forever, such as teak or recycled PET, recycled milk jugs – these never rot and give your trash a second life! The outdoor Adirondack chair has become a vernacular in furniture design, it has been interpreted in many ways, including rockers, and continues to influence furniture designs in wood, recycled polymer, & aluminum. Wine barrel staves have even been used to construct Adirondack-style chairs, although oak is actually not so great for outdoor use!
